The State Environmental Agency (SMA-SP) Issues the Environmental Permit for the Eastern Segment of São Paulo’s Metropolitan Beltway (Rodoanel) (April 2010)

The Environmental Agency of the State of São Paulo (SMA-SP) has issued the Environmental Permit for the Eastern Segment of the city’s Metropolitan Beltway (Rodoanel). With 41 km, this segment will interconnect the recently concluded Southern Segment with three of the ten (10) highways that reach São Paulo. The Beltway is the largest and most important highway project in Brazil. JGP was responsible for the EIA, as the lead firm in the joint venture selected by the State in public tender. The EIAs for the Western and Southern Segments, already built, were also developed by JGP.
