In 2016 the State of Sao Paulo began implementation of a new toll-road Concession Program, including 4 new Concession Contracts totaling 2,200 km of existing roads to be improved through duplication or other capacity expansion works.

IFC was retained by the State of Sao Paulo (through ARTESP) to conduct all necessary preliminary studies and to structure the concession process, including preparation of tender documents and other required technical studies.

JGP was responsible for development of all environmental and social aspects and preparation of technical and contractual requirements regarding E&S aspects, under contract with IFC. Two of the 4 concessions were successfully tendered in 2017 and the remaining two are scheduled for tender during 2018.
