JGP to conduct Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) of the 400 kV, 844 km Chimuara – Nacala Transmission Line (February 2018)

Under a contract with EDM (Electricidade de Mozambique), the ESIA and RAP will be developed to comply with requirements from International Financial Institutions (AfDB). The project includes three high-voltage transmission lines in 400 kV, 220 kV and 100 kV (HVAC), totaling 844 km. The project will link the Central and North electricity transmission systems and enable evacuation of hydro, gas and coal-sourced medium and large scale power generation from the Zambezi River, Nacala and other sources to the rest of Mozambique.
