JGP awarded contract to prepare the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Resettlement Framework for a Major Transmission Line in Tanzania | June 2023
The Uganda-Tanzania Transmission Interconnection Project (UTIP) under the Tanzania-Zambia Transmission Interconnection Project (TAZA) foresees the construction of a 400 kV Transmission Line between Mabuki and the border between Uganda and Tanzania, totaling 560 km. The project is financed by the World Bank. Studies will begin in July/2023, including developing an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and a Resettlement Framework for the directly affected population in the easement of the future T-line, in compliance with local legislation and World Bank Environmental and Social Standards. |
