JGP has assisted environmental agencies on several types of projects, including planning of Conservation Units, design and implementation of training programs and institutional strengthening programs.
Assistance to Metropolitan Region authorities has included infrastructure planning, particularly for the transportation sector. In joint venture with other consultants, JGP assisted the municipalities of Puebla (Mexico) and Rio de Janeiro in development of long-term Metropolitan Transportation Plans.
Assistance to local (municipal) authorities in urban planning and environmental issues, infrastructure planning and housing program planning and implementation is also an area of considerable expertise.
A project worth highlighting in this context is the environmental risk assessment of 23 irregular settlements in the Municipality of São Bernardo do Campo (see Landmark Projects).
JGP has assisted several municipalities with development of their Urban Master Plan as required by federal legislation in Brazil. In some cases this has included preparation of land use and zoning rules and associated urban legislation. |
