Environmental planning services have been delivered by JGP in a wide variety of contexts.
As environmental consultants responsible for impact assessments and permitting on more than 30 urban development projects totaling over 45 million square meters, we have significantly influenced the urban design of an area with a design population of over 400.000 people.
We have also been responsible for the Environmental Management Plans of several large private Natural Conservation Areas. These plans are based on detailed environmental surveys, including flora and fauna inventories, and conclude with an environmental zoning plan, a set of regulations affecting uses and admissible activities, and an Environmental Management Plan.
For a water supply concessionaire, we have developed the environmental studies and public consultation activities necessary to establish a Watershed Protection Area to protect its main source of water. This included extensive baseline studies with focus on soil runoff problems that are critical in the region. An environmental zoning plan and land use regulations were also produced.
Planning services for the public sector have included advise on coastal environmental zoning in the state of São Paulo, as well as assistance to several municipal governments with production of Urban Master Plans and urban zoning and environmental regulations.
Sectoral planning for the public sector has included the environmental aspects of the Metropolitan Transportation Plans of the cities of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Puebla (Mexico).
